La Beatitud de José Gregorio Hernández

The artistic exhibition presents the Beatitude of Doctor José Gregorio Hernández, humanist, doctor and Blessed. It is fundamentally due to the need to communicate it in an organized way in its two-dimensional and three-dimensional expressions in its multiple facets that help us to better understand the influence of the spiritual life of this Christian model in the search for a citizenry more committed to altruistic human values.

Museographically, each work has a critical analysis for a better understanding that determines the relationships between images, signs, symbols and charitable (altruistic) Christian values of an exemplary Christian.

The exemplary model of José Gregorio Hernández remains alive in the collective memory as an intercessor and source of graces and favors. Popular religiosity increases the concept by giving the cult of the model saint the ability to solve problems and cure diseases, as a resource that remains in desperate cases and where faith works true miracles. The failure of health, the search for material goods, loving and affective relationships, job stability, social security, protection against accidents, are propitious reasons to go to the Blessed, to whom devotion has recognized powers by the force of faith, either for his exemplary life or for the miracles he performed. The artists have endeavored to capture with their works with images of high artistic value, the artistic biographical historical testimony of the esteem that Venezuelans feel for this Blessed in maintaining the sociocultural and charitable values of the Venezuelan people. José Gregorio Hernández becomes the symbol of community identity and his admiration defines the borders of the brotherhood and according to the plastic artistic quality increases his fame and esteem, constituting himself as a model of Christian spirituality and an example to follow.
