César Prieto
Venezuelan painter born in Venezuela in 1882, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Caracas between 1900 and 1910. In 1908 he gave painting classes to Armando Reveron. In 1908 he gave painting classes to Armando Reveron; In 1923 he painted the Portrait of Mary Brandt in Brandt's studio, between 1927 and 1930 he worked as a model at the Academy and in 1936, when the Academy was reformed, he worked as a drawing teacher at the new School of Plastic Arts. and Applied.
In 1937 he participated in the "International Universal Exposition" in Paris and two years later in the New York World's Fair and in the tribute show to the fourth centenary of the foundation of Bogotá. He participated uninterruptedly from 1940 to 1957 in the Official Salon. In 1941 he made his first solo show at Club Venezuela, in 1942 he participated in "Venezuelan Landscape" "Three centuries of Venezuelan painting" (MBA, 1948) and the I Salón Planchart, he also participated in exhibitions such as MBA / Club del Comercio (1950). , Maracaibo / Aeropostal Venezolana, New York, MBA (1962), El Muro Gallery (1968) in Caracas, Framauro Caracas Gallery (1972), Aurora Gallery, Caracas (1975) and Posthumous Exhibitions "From Origins to Light. César Prieto ", GAN (1982).
