Germán Tessarolo
Plastic artist born in Italy in 1945 and at three months of age immigrated to Buenos Aires, Argentina along with his family. Since he was a child passionate about painting and drawing, he participated in several collective and individual exhibitions, in 1969 he decided to settle in Bogotá, Colombia where he made his painter career constantly traveling to Europe and the United States. Tessarolo is one of the creators of Art Therapy in Colombia, for more than 15 years he has been carrying out recreational workshops with health professionals, patients, bankers and executives from other disciplines. Art Therapy is a therapeutic pictorial exercise without rules, which seeks to free the inner child through catharsis through form and color, achieving surprising results. He participated in numerous individual and collective exhibitions since 1967 internationally. He has the following awards: 1987 - Association of Art Critics and Commentators (Miami, Fla. - Honor Mention) (USA); 1997 - Medal of Merit Army of Colombia, Bogotá D.C. (Colombia); 1998 - International Red Cross Merit Medal, Bogotá D.C. (Colombia); 1999 - Special Mention of the Colombian Red Cross Section Cundinamarca and Bogotá D.C. (Colombia); 2010 - Leonardo Da Vinci Award (to the arts) for his invaluable contribution to humanity (Rimini, Italy); 2013 - First Magazine Award as the Best Plastic Artist of 2012, Bogotá D.C. (Colombia).
